Our Partner
Sales Sync

Everything you need to know — the relationship between the two, every platform feature, how lock-in actually works, and what your options are after Year 1.

// The Relationship

Two different things.
One outcome — you own your site.

Think of it like this: Potato Rocket is the builder who constructs your house. Sales Sync is the smart home system inside it — the CMS, CRM, and dashboard you use every day. And the code export means you always hold the deed. The house is yours, not ours.

Potato Rocket built Sales Sync because every platform we previously built on — Shopify, Wix, Squarespace — had the same problem: clients got trapped. Their code wasn't exportable. Leaving meant rebuilding from scratch. So we built our own platform where export is a core feature, not an afterthought.

Right now, Sales Sync is only available through Potato Rocket. When Sales Sync spins off publicly later in 2026, anyone will be able to sign up directly — but clients who come through Potato Rocket now lock in founding pricing ($30/mo) forever.

Your $3,000 pays for Potato Rocket's build work. Year 1 of Sales Sync is included free. From Year 2, Sales Sync is $30/month — or you export your code and go elsewhere. Completely your choice.

Need something that doesn't exist? We build it as a custom Slice, added to the platform. Your feature — available to all future clients too.

// Lock-In Explained

How platforms trap you —
and why it's by design.

Shopify

High Lock-In Risk

Forced plan upgrades: Need staff access? Forced from Basic ($42/mo) to Grow ($114/mo) — $864/year more just for team logins.

Proprietary Liquid code: Your front-end is built in Shopify's "Liquid" language. No other platform reads it — your entire design is worthless if you leave.

App dependency: Most stores spend $50–200/mo on Shopify apps. Those apps don't transfer if you leave. You rebuild from zero.

Cost to escape: Rebuilding the front-end elsewhere typically costs $3,000–20,000+. Most businesses can't afford it — so they stay.

Wix

Complete Lock-In

No code export. Ever. Wix stores your site in a proprietary format. There is no export button. You cannot download your site. Full stop.

Content is also trapped: Your text, images, and blog posts are difficult to move in bulk. Copy-paste every page manually.

Price hikes hit trapped users hardest: Wix raised prices significantly in 2023–24. No exit meant paying more or losing features.

Cost to escape: Full rebuild from scratch. $2,000–15,000+ depending on size. Plus you lose all SEO authority you've built.

Squarespace

High Lock-In Risk

Limited export only: Some blog content exports as XML. Your website design, page layouts, and structure cannot be exported. The visual work stays behind.

Proprietary templates: Every dollar of customisation lives in Squarespace's system — tied specifically to their platform.

Developer work can't transfer: Any custom code injected by a developer is Squarespace-specific. It cannot be ported anywhere.

Cost to escape: Rebuilding design and structure typically $2,000–12,000+. Content migration is slow and manual.

How Potato Rocket is structurally different

Your site runs on Sales Sync. Unlike Wix or Squarespace, you can export your entire codebase at any time, for free — a complete TanStack Start project, hostable on any server in the world.

If we raise prices, you leave. If Sales Sync shuts down, you export and continue. The ability to leave is what gives you the power to choose to stay — not lock-in. We make our money by being genuinely good at what we do.

// After Year 1

Three real options.
All yours to choose.

We believe you should know your options before signing up. No surprises, no pressure.

Option 01

Stay on Sales Sync

$30/mo

Everything stays exactly as-is.Nothing changes.Same dashboard, CMS, CRM.

New features — Stripe, email marketing, automation — automatically included as they launch.

Hosting, SSL, backups all included. No separate hosting bill.

Founding client pricing locked forever.Your $30/mo never increases.

Code export still available anytime. You can change your mind and leave for free.

Most clients choose this — best value by far

Option 02

Export & Self-Host

~$5–20/mo

Export your full code — free, no questions, complete codebase.

Deploy toVercel, Netlify, AWS or your own server. Vercel's free tier covers most small businesses.

You lose the Sales Sync visual editor, CMS dashboard, and CRM. Content managed through code or a developer.

Best for: Technical founders or businesses with an in-house developer wanting maximum control at minimal cost.

Good option if you have technical capability

Option 03

Export & Move Agency

Cost varies

Export full codebase — free. Complete, documented TanStack Start project.

Hand to any web agency or developer in the world.Standard code anyone can read.

Your entire investment preserved. New agency builds on top of what exists —no rebuild from zero.

Best for: Businesses growing into a full-service agency relationship for ongoing development work.

Your $3,000 investment travels with you — always

The point of offering these options isn't to encourage you to leave — it's to prove you genuinely can. Most businesses stay on Sales Sync because at $30/month it's far cheaper than any alternative. But knowing you can leave is what makes choosing to stay meaningful. We earn your business every month — not by trapping you.
